Patrica Rose Ward, 78, of Round Rock, Texas and formerly of Kokomo, and Greentown, Indiana, passed away June 17, 2019 after a brave battle with Cancer, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Marion, Indiana on November 21, 1940 to Rosa Highley and Earl Highley. Patricia graduated from Swayzee High School in 1959 as the Salutatorian and studied at Indiana Business College before beginning her 15-year career at Delco Electronics. She married Donald Ward (who survives) on September 4, 1964. Patricia began her career as a real estate broker, serving Howard County, in 1974. During her real estate career she worked for Greentown Realty, Scoggins Better Homes and Gardens, and The Hardie Group. She was known for her honesty, optimism, and hard work ethic and received many awards throughout her career. Prior to retirement in 2002, Patricia was a member of the Alto Road Church of Christ. Upon retiring she and her husband relocated to Round Rock, Texas and she was active in the benevolence ministry and World Bible School at Westover Hills Church of Christ, where she was a member. Patricia was passionate about her family, showering all of them with her nurturing love. She loved to travel and was thankful to have been able to take many trips in retirement.
She is survived by son Jim Ward (Gina) of Memphis, Tennessee, daughter Amy Grunow (David) of Round Rock, Texas, her grandchildren Jacob, Luke and Reese Grunow, and Peyton Ward, her sister Roberta Danforth (Stephen), and close cousin Sharon Green (David), brother in-law Robert Ward (Ruth) sister in-law Joan Taylor, as well as many nephews and nieces, and several close friends.
Visitation will be from 12-2pm at Westover Hills Church of Christ in Austin, Texas with funeral services immediately following. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Baylor Scott and White Hospital and Cornerstone Hospital for their care, concern and kindness.
