She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gilbert Acosta, daughter Gracie Rosales, and sister Dahlia.

Mercy was such a joy to have around; the amount of love she had for everyone was imaginable. Mercy always welcomed anyone with open arms and with so much love. Her home was always such a safe space full of love, the lord Jesus Christ, and her Elephants. If you went to Tia Mercy's house, you would know two things. First, it was a judgment free home and as she would say "only one man above can judge us." And second, with her famous Dorito casserole and stuffing, she always had a plate of food for you. Not only will Mercy be dearly missed, but she will always be loved by her friends and family.
A funeral service for Merced will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.

— Memory of Me —
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
