Maurice Fowler, age 74, passed away October 29, 2020. He was born August 1, 1946 in Austin, Texas to Melvin and LA (Dickerson) Fowler. Maurice proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a very fun-loving person and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching the news, sports and Judge Judy – he would always say “you can’t fool that old lady”. Maurice owned and operated his own 18 wheeler for many years and knew a lot about cars. One of his favorite pastimes was playing dominoes. Two of Maurice’s well known phrases were “That’s what she told me last night” and “Quite as it’s kept”.
Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, LA and Melvin Fowler, Sr; brothers, Melvin Fowler, Jr. and William Fowler; and son, Derrick Hill. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Glorious Fowler; children, Demethia Fowler, Terrence Hill and his wife Chiron, Nicole Davis, Brandle Fowler Sr. and his wife Constance; brother, Donald Fowler; sisters, Eleanor Simms, Keisha Fowler and Lillie Jones; grandchildren, Tiesha Fowler, Ashley Bethea, Briana Fowler, Jensis Hill, Da’Jon Fowler Hodges, Desmond Wadlington, Aramis Hill, Brandle Fowler Jr., Amaree Fowler and Branelle Fowler; great grandchildren, Le’Auzhanae Bethea and Jeremiah Wright.
Memorial Graveside Services with military honors will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
