At the beginning of Marsha’s adult life, she was a member of the sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word where she began her teaching vocation. She devoted over five decades working in Catholic education in various roles in Louisiana, the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston as well as the Diocese of Austin. She performed various roles in her career as a teacher, principal, associate superintendent and as associate director of accreditation with the Texas Catholic Conference.
Marsha had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed going to the Symphony, knitting, and taking trips. Above all, she loved her dogs who gave her a lot of joy and comfort. She also gave her time and energy in service to her parish church, St. John Neumann.
Marsha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George, her parents Earl and Mildred Colvin as well as her only sister Earleen. She is survived by her nephew Scott Waterman as well as many loving friends in Houston, Austin, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Las Vegas and Ireland.
Our appreciation goes out to the many members of the medical staff of Texas Oncology, Baylor Scott and White and Hospice Austin who gave invaluable loving care during Marsha’s last few days.
