Marlene Wootton, 75, a longtime resident of Austin, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 in Round Rock. She was born on July 13, 1936 in Itasca, Texas. She was the current President of the Texas Extension Homemakers Association. She was a member of the Sprinkle Club and Ridgetop Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Trent Wootton, her parents and a granddaughter. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Clark and husband Bobby and Shannon Ray and husband Jim; grandchildren, Clinton Wallace and wife Rachel, Zach Wallace, Kevin Goggans and wife Kelly, Katie Montez and husband Tomas; and great-grandchildren, Lane, Colton, Misty, Aubrie, Autumn and Kade Wallace, McKenna Ray, Blake and Mason Goggans, and Jacob, Tristen, Sophie and Baby Montez.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Beth Hellerstedt and Hospice Compassus for their kindness and gentle care of Marlene.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
