Marian was born on January 19, 1949 and died on May 18, 2013 at 2:45 pm. She was 64 at her passing. She was attended by her husband, her five children, her two sisters and her pastor. She passed away peacefully while in hospice care at her oldest son’s home.
Marian Pearson was known by many names: Beth, Mom, Sister, Aunt Beth, Momma Jack, Mrs. P, Momma Pearson and Mimi. She wore many hats in her lifetime and worked many different types of jobs. She was a convenience store manager, a farmer, a jewelry store manager, a floral designer, a school bus driver, a painter, a school bus mechanic, a sound technician and promoter for her husband’s/ family’s band and the Vice President of the Williamson County Chapter of V.O.C.A.L. (a non-profit organization). She retired from driving a school bus for the Round Rock School District after a fall left her with a spinal injury that left her unable to sit or stand for long periods.
Mrs. Pearson loved music and performed with a band in her younger years; at one time, she sang with Jerry Lee Lewis. Since her husband retired from actively performing, she could often be found singing karaoke, along with her other children or family members at her youngest daughter’s karaoke shows. To Mrs. Pearson, family was everything and she made a point of keeping in contact with both her immediate and extended family. She would spend her mornings on her back porch having coffee, writing poetry and talking to God. This was her quiet time that she enjoyed most because it was her time to talk with her mother in Heaven and with her Lord. She was a bright smile, a hug, a kind word or a listening ear whenever you needed one and she never judged. She was “mom” to many, and many people loved her from all walks of life. She is now with her Lord and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-seven years Roger Odell Pearson and her children: Schannen Pearson, Krislena Weston, Kelly Pearson, Michelle Pearson and Scott Pearson. Her grandchildren: Katerina Grubesic, Anthony Bradley, Heather Pearson, Daytona Bradley, Amanda Pearson, James Weston, Corey Pearson, Shelby Pearson, Schannen Tyler Pearson, Skylar Pearson, Tommy Pearson, Kaley Pearson, and Kai Pearson. Her great-grandchildren: William Byrd, Ayden Bradley, Annmarie Pearson, Reese Grubesic. Her siblings: Francis (Susie) Kinder, Gordon Hobbs and Janet Griffen as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
The viewing and memorial services will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. The viewing hours will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 with the memorial service to be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 3:30 pm.
