I having been looking to reconnect with Kenny for several years, only to finally find him today. I met Kenny when I moved to Copperas Cove half way into my senior year. I felt very alone there until a skinny little guy asked me did I want to go to lunch off campus with him. I figured better than sitting at a table by  myself, Sure. We walked out to the parking lot and there was the sweetest 1965 fast back Mustang. I couldn't believe it, when he told me to get in and off we went.  I had lunch every school day with Kenny. During one of those days, he told me, he invited someone else. At first I was a little peeved, I would have to compete for the "Shotgun" with some newcomer. Kenny picked well, Bo Harvey became my other best friend. Together we were like the 3 amigos for the rest of the year. 
I had to move after we graduated. When I came back to Cove later the next year, Kenny had moved away too. I never saw him again.  Shortly there after I left to join the Army in 1969 since I had a low draft number (140). I never thought Kenny would join the army, his draft number was 360, but I guess he did in 1971.
Once again when I came back to this area, I asked around about Kenny but found nothing. Little did I know that when I got a job in Austin in 1999. He was working for the City of Austin.
From reading messages from others, I can see that he stayed a nice guy and good man. I wish I could have had an opportunity to go to lunch with him one more time. We could have swapped stories and told lies about Mustangs, Corvettes, and other hot cars we owned or wanted to own.
Goodbye old friend, sorry I missed you. 

To Pat, Kevin, and the Anderson family: I am so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My condolences to the Anderson Family.  I was fortunate to have worked with Ken at the City of Austin.  He was definitely a straight shooter and a good man.  I'm glad he was able to retire and got to spend time with his family.  I admired his dedication to his country and community.  He certainly spent a lot of time serving both.  Thanks for sharing his photos.  He spoke a lot about the Corvette he had when he was younger. I am sorry for your loss.

Ken was a most wonderful person.He was lovingly dedicated to his family and friends, he was thoughtful in making important decisions and was accountable for them, he was considerate of others and would not tolerate intimidation, he was honest and upright in actions and bravely defied dishonesty and deception.He was quick to forgive others when they made mistakes and he quickly acknowledged his own mistakes.We shared many confidences.We talked of dreams and disappointments and spent many, many hours together without catching any fish.Then too there were memorable catches;but, regardless of the outcome, we always felt richer for each others company.For Pat, Kevin and his entire family I pray that loving memories of time spent with Ken heal your loss.He is now free of earthly burdens and in a place of pure love.

Pat:  I am so sorry for your loss.  Ken is no longer in pain.  The pain of death is coming upon you and Kevin now.  Suffering appears in all of our lives at some point, we never know when or how much we have to carry.  Treasure the time you took off and spent with Ken. Hello to the Anderson Family.  My name is Mike Akroosh-Class of 1967.  I am saddened so much for the passing of a dear friend from Copperas Cove. I grew up with Kenny and Dwight and remember what wonderful guys they were and had the hottest corvettes around.  I cherish the moments I shared with Kenny and Dwight.
