Kay Wyland Marling

She liked to golf! Kay was born in Onawa, Iowa on June 9th, 1942, and grew up in Iowa, California, and Nebraska, graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa as the school baton twirler (her pre-training for swinging a golf club). There she raised her children with her first husband Paul Ryan, including Paula Tiffin (Michael) of Garland, TX, Mark Ryan (Shelli) of Las Vegas, NV, and Craig Ryan (d. 2014). Sometime in her busy life she discovered golf, and fell in love with the sport.

In between rounds of golf and working full time, Kay found time to attend college and graduated from Bellevue Univ. She spent 37 years at the U.S Army Corps of Engineers in Omaha, Nebraska.

Upon retirement she began Life Phase 2. Married to Charles Marling in 1997; him agreeing to golfing and her agreeing to motorcycling. They moved to better greens in Round Rock, TX where she worked at Dell for 23 years, recently retiring again.

She is survived by husband Charles, children Paula and Mark, and her granddaughter Alissa Tiffin. We invite her friends and coworkers from Dell, and former golf partners, to join us for Kay’s Celebration of Life from 2-4 pm, Tuesday, May 28, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 Interstate 35 North, Pflugerville, TX.
