Juan Mario Blanco, 74, of Pflugerville, Texas, passed into everlasting rest surrounded by his loving family on May 22, 2021. He was born in Monte Alto, Texas, on October 15, 1946, to Maria and Juan Blanco Sr.
Juan married his best friend, Margarita Blanco, on June 27, 1970, while serving with the Army in South Vietnam. They were married for 48 years, and they had three children. He retired from employment in the computer industry with over 40 years of Information Technology leadership roles at Texas Instruments (GSI), Halliburton, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Juan was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margarita Rendon Blanco.; parents, Maria and Juan Blanco Sr. He is survived by his children, Irene Angelina Blanco, Ricardo Cruz Blanco (Sylvia), John Xavier Blanco (Erica); his sister Genoveva Villegas (Alberto), and brothers Victor Blanco, Bernardo Blanco (Jennifer), Armando Blanco (Carmen), Jose Blanco (Janie), Joel Blanco (Mary) and Javier Blanco (Dora).
Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Angelica Garza, Isaac Garza, Fabian Garza, Isabella Sophia Blanco, Matthew Xavier Blanco, Ximena Margarita Blanco, and many nieces and nephews. Sincerest appreciation to Irene Blanco for the love, attention, and care she provided to her dad. Pallbearers are Fabian Garza, Johnny Rios, Rene Rendon, Rafael Blanco, Adrian Blanco, and Isaac Garza. The honorary pallbearers will be grandson Matthew Xavier Blanco, granddaughters Isabella Sophia Blanco, Ximena Margarita Blanco, and nephew Arturo Rendon.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and soldier, Juan was a faithful servant leader and was devoted to taking care of others first and working tirelessly for Veterans. He was a true friend, thoughtful, generous, and inspiring; He had a way of bringing together families and friends with his humor and a direct way of thinking. Juan will leave a void in our lives; however, the special memories will never go away.
Visitation Services will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home (2900 Williams Dr, Georgetown, TX 78628). Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home (2900 Williams Dr, Georgetown, TX 78628).
Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 28,2021 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church (1520 N. Railroad Avenue, Pflugerville, TX 78660). Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery (14501 N. IH 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660).
