JoAnn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many. She was dedicated and passionate to a life filled with many accomplishments and activities. She was an active sorority member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Laureate Alpha Sigma Chapter. She spent her life as an artist, interior decorator, wife, mother and grandmother. Throughout the years together with her husband she spent countless hours golfing, line dancing and traveling the world. They also were major supporters and advocates of the Lobos the University of New Mexico Basketball and Football Programs. They were also lifelong members of the Church of Christ. In later years she was an initial member of the Original Red Hats Group as well as participated in many Bridge Groups. JoAnn’s family would want all those who knew her to forever remember her for being a true dignified lady, for her love of people, how easily she made friends, her one of kind smile, her laughter and of course the wonderful twinkle in her eye. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She married Larry G. Vranich in Lubbock, Texas and he preceded her in death in 1997. JoAnn then later remarried Doug Tingley in Albuquerque, New Mexico and he too preceded her in death in 2010.
She is survived by her three daughters, Vikki Vranich King and her husband Brian of Austin, Texas, Cheryl Vranich Robinson and her husband Brian Hardin of Lago Vista, Texas, and Deborah Vranich Jordan and her husband Pat O. of Round Rock, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Johnie Smith of Texas; one brother, Lawrence Whittington of Montana as well as many extended family members and close friends.
In addition to her parents, husband Larry and husband Doug she was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother and one grandson.
The visitation for family and friends will take place at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Breeden officiating.
