Helen Louise Perkins Salcher, age 90 years, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died April 16, 2012. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Lena Perkins; siblings, Glynn Perkins, Dixie McGehee, and Bobbie Hamric; and son-in-law, LCDR. James Radney.
Mrs. Salcher is survived by her husband of 67 years, Otto F. Salcher, Jr.; daughters, Linda Salcher Endres and her husband, Nicholas, Cindy Salcher Radney Ture and her husband, Kenneth; their sons, Luke Ture and his wife, Shannon, Pastor Derek Radney and his wife, Sally and Evan Ture and his wife, Dahlia; and three great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Sarah Jane, and Calvin.
Helen is also survived by her sibling, Ethel Mae Yazell, 97 years; in-laws, Gerald Salcher and his wife Billie and Dolores Salcher. Nine nieces and four nephews and their respective families, also, survive her.
Helen graduated from Lampasas High School and Austin Business College. She worked for many years in accounting and bookkeeping.
Helen greatly loved drives through Texas country back roads, admiring wild flowers, old farms and ranches, and the beauty of Texas. She, also, was an avid reader.
Helen’s grandsons will especially miss her fried okra, chocolate fudge pie, and lemon chess pie.
Services for Helen will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21st in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks. Committal services will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery. Her grandson, Pastor Derek Radney will officiate the services.
Helen loved her family deeply, and leaves them a lifetime of memories to cherish.
