Fernando Ruben Lerma, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother entered rest on December 18, 2015 at the age of 75. He was born to Fred and Alvina Lerma, Jr. on March 15, 2015 in Yoakum, Texas.
Fernando graduated from Yoakum High School. He served in the National Guard and retired from Texas Highway Department after 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronnie R. Lerma and is survived by his wife, G. Marie Lerma; son, Fernando Ruben Lerma, Jr.; daughter, Peggy Lerma Mireles; grandchildren: Natalie Lerma Stewart, Fernando Ronald Mireles, Emalie Lerma Wall, and Marley Grace Lerma; great-grandchildren, Mason Lee Wall, Ronnie Ralyn Lerma Stewart, Nolyn Ryan Elliott Stewart, Kirklyn Nathaniel Trace Stewart and Kayden Ray Wall; brothers, Fred Lerma III, Felix P. Lerma, Sr., and Johnny R. Lerma; sisters, Ophelia Trevino and Diana L. Gomez; grandparents, Fred and Luz Lerma, Sr., and Louis and Teresa Moreno and other relatives and friends.
Fernando will be remembered by his family as a strong and dedicated family man, who always provided for their needs.
A Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 21, 2015 with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
