Ernest Calvin Smith

He married the love of his life Lorene Swenson on April 23, 1958. Ernest was the owner and operator of Smitty’s Battery Company. He never met a stranger and enjoyed many things in life including singing karaoke, traveling, especially to Hawaii and visiting with his friends and family.

Ernest is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jeannie Hunnicutt and son-in-law, Buford Ivy.

He is survived by his wife Lorene; daughters, Brenda Chambers (Wesley), Martha Ivy, Wanda Litson (Gary), Pamela Martin (James), Sheila Cox (Jeremy); son, Karl Smith (Norma); grandchildren, Shelby, Elizabeth, Zachary, Bailey, Andrew, Gary, Brenda, Angela, Brandon and Sean; siblings, Lela Chowning, Frank Smith, Jr., Robert Smith and Phyllis Elliott; along with numerous other family members, friends and business associates.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pflugerville, Texas with burial to follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
