Eric Jermaine Williams was born on January 2, 1973, in Denison, Texas to parents, Jerry Williams (deceased) and Betty Williams. He entered into eternal rest on April 21, 2014. Eric completed his basic academics at the Texas School for the Visually Impaired. He continued his education at Austin Community College and completed the requirements for an Associate’s degree. Eric furthered his education by attaining a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005.
Eric jumped hurdles and overcame obstacles unimaginable to all of us; always with the determination to exceed all boundaries. No mountain was too high for Eric! It feels minimal to say he was an inspiration to everyone he encountered because he was more than an inspiration; he was the epitome of hope, passion, and love.
Always lending a helping hand, Eric’s warm smile and infectious laugh endeared him to any stranger he met. Eric proudly asserted his independence in all areas of his life. He could be too firm in his stance, but passion is what he exuded about self-reliance! Eric loved life and wanted to experience all it had to offer. From snowmobiling on winter trips to skydiving with his sisters in San Marcos! He was adventurous!
Eric leaves behind a family who loved him fully, whose lives are better because of him: mother, Betty Williams; sisters, Denise Williams, Roshelle Taylor, Tondra Williams, Monica Mercer, Chandra Mercer; nieces, Denee` Williams, Jonica Thompson-Mercer, Morgan Taylor; nephew, Kennedy Taylor, II; aunts, Brenda Wofford, Kathy Green, Martha (Howard) Miller, Elanda Wright, Edna Barnett, Ann (Leonard) Joffrion, Ethel Williams, Mary Jane (Cliff) Jones, Barbara Williams, and Alberta Williams (Clarence) ; uncles, Claude Williams, Willie Williams, Randy (Donna) Williams, and a host of additional family and friends. We love you, Eric! Thank you for the passionate, caring, driven spirit you embodied. We had a hard time trying to keep pace with you.
Eric will be reunited with his father, Jerry Williams, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Jeremiah and Mary Ida Williams; maternal grandparents, Edward and Lillian Robertson; cousin, Quentin Barnett and more will be greeting Eric in Heaven.
