Her passions included love of her family, family traditions, love for God, and her faith. She truly was an angel that God placed on earth for us to love and cherish.
Vera retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Moses Castro; mother Eduwiges “Vica” Flores, father Victor Flores Sr., brother Victor Flores Jr, sister Sally Flores, and brother Federico Flores. She is survived by daughter Linda Russo (Carl), son Johnny Castro (Yolanda), son Davey Castro, and daughter Stella Castro. Sisters: Mary Diaz (Joe Sr.), Frances Samilpa (Liandro), Lois Dzenowski (Chester), Nancy Villegas (Arturo Sr), and Judy Limon (Martin Jr); Grandchildren: Jason Russo, John Aaron Castro, Armando Medina, Nicole Medina, Javier Castro, Lissa Castro, Benjamin Castro, Joel Valladares, three great grandchildren, and her loving nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers: Javier Castro, John Aaron Castro, Benjamin Castro, Joel Valladares, Michael Gene Villegas, Armando Medina, Artie Villegas, and Lissa Castro. Honorary Pallbearer is her eldest grandson, Jason Russo, currently deployed overseas with the United States Navy.

Family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, June 25th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Rosary will be held Sunday, June 26th at 7:00PM, also at Cook-Walden Capital Parks. Funeral services will begin at 10:00AM on Monday, June 27th, at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Pflugerville, Texas. Graveside services will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
