Charlotte Dishong Fortune died on May 12, 2015 in Austin, Texas at the age of eighty three. She was born and raised in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Her town, family, and friends were always close to her heart. Her passion was politics, always quick to retell the story of meeting Ronald Reagan when she served as a delegate for the Republican National Convention. She was an avid traveler and visited many countries with her children and grandchildren.
Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Karen Carr, Bobbi Carr and husband Greg Thagard, and Karri Thagard; her grandchildren, Thomas Carrington, Erin, Jordan, Simon, Camden Torres, Claire Kelly, and Meredith and Madeline Thagard; her great-grandchildren Locklyn and Cullen; and her adopted African elephant Lempuete.
