Calvin Harley Jenkins, Jr., age 50, was born to Calvin Jenkins and Debbie Godbey Jenkins at St. David’s Hospital in Austin, Texas on August 13, 1969, and went home to be with his Heavenly Father on October 3, 2019. Calvin graduated from Westwood High School and earned two Associates Degrees in Criminal Justice from Austin Community College. Calvin worked in the construction business for many years and found his work family at the Travis County Sherriff’s Department for the last 16 years.
Calvin enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing, camping, and motorcycle rides. Calvin also enjoyed wildlife and took pride in raising hybrid wolves and his dogs. Calvin had a kind and gentle spirit and a heart of gold. Calvin’s faith was important to him, as he followed in his grandpa Godbey’s footsteps by reading a chapter in the Bible every day.
Calvin loved his family and is survived by his father and mother, Calvin Jenkins and Debbie Jenkins, his sister, Candi Wilson and her husband Kevin, his nieces Lori and Hailey Wilson, his nephew, Kevin Wilson, Jr. “KJ”, and four sweet great-nieces as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends. Calvin was predeceased by his grandparents, Della Mae and Hershel Jenkins and Norman and Earlene Godbey, Uncle George Jenkins, Aunt Jeannie Godbey, and Uncle Skeet Prewitt.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2019 in The Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Cumming officiating followed by a burial in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.

A special thank you to everyone at the Travis County Sheriff’s Department including Cristina Warren, Captain Michael Gottner, and Sergeant Brandon Bell for their friendship, support, and assistance during Calvin’s illness.
Calvin, with his generous heart, was able to donate his corneas to give the gift of sight to two local people through the Lions Eye Banks/Lions Club International.
