Ann Karen (Kay) Morgan, age 83, of Austin, Texas formerly of Georgetown, Texas was born in Beaumont,Texas and died on October 4, 2023 with her eldest daughter, Julia by her side. Kay attended Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Texas where she grew up. She was married to Earl Edmond (Ed) Morgan on November 2, 1957 until his death in 2000. Kay married her beloved second husband Albert Wayne (Al) Schoonover on December 26, 2019, who preceded her in death last October 2, 2022.
Kay took pride in being a wife and mother, creating lovely homes and delicious meals for her family, who loved her immensely. She also excelled in the business world and held a variety of positions during her long career including real estate agent, director of an art center, and president of a local computer start-up company, among others. Kay always enjoyed traveling with Ed and their three daughters Julia, Marian, and Susan. Many miles from Mexico to Canada were put on the family station wagon while singing rounds of Row, Row, Row Your Boat and Michael Finnegan. Later in life, she and Al criss-crossed the US in their 40 foot motor-home while towing a vehicle. Kay did all the driving while Al navigated. They had a great deal of fun together and had numerous stories to tell.
Kay is survived by her daughters Julia Carol Hostetter (Jack) and Susan Elaine Morgan and step-son Lester Schoonover (Jo), grandsons Jason Halbert (Rachel), Joshua Moore (Kasee), and Kyle Morgan, step-grandchildren C.J. Hostetter (Matthew), Joshua Schoonover, Matthew Schoonover (Sarah), and Emma Crisp (Cris), great-grandchildren Madeleine Halbert, Gennavie Gonzales, Damien Moore and Lailani Moore and step-great grandchildren Madelyn, Caroline, Cayden, Rayden and James. She is also survived by her sister Wren Smith and sister-in-law Janey Smith, nieces Kristil Wright and Deana May, and nephew Stuart Smith.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home at 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
