Andrew was born on October 6, 1934 in Bastrop, Texas to the late Adam and Mabel Reese, of Taylor, Texas.
At the time of his death, Andrew was a retired state employee for the Texas DPS. He also served in the military as a member of the United States Air Force. Andrew will forever be remembered for his love of collegiate sports and old westerns. He also had a passion for fishing and for gardening. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Andrew is survived by his wife Gloria “Gogi” Reese. In addition, he leaves behind his sons, Ronny Reese (Ophelia), Daniel Hernandez (Holly), James Andrew Reese (Yvette), and Roy Alba (Theresa). He also leaves behind his daughters, Diana Johnson and Jennifer Reese-Parker (William “Bill”). Andrew is preceded in death by his sister, Mabel Reese Mercer of Austin and brothers, L.V. Reese, Adam Reese, Jr., Loyce Reese of Taylor, and son, Marvin L. Reese, of Austin. Andrew will be greatly missed by his 10 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren one brother Arthur (Pearl) Reese of St. Petersburg, Florida as well as his numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves behind countless extended family and friends.
The family gratefully thanks the ICU staff at St. David’s Medical Center on 32nd Street in Austin, especially for their dignified and respectful care during the last hours of his life.
A Visitation for family and friends will be conducted on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Rosary service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Monday June 11, in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas where military honors will be afforded.
