I only met Bill a few times he was a very nice man.. my heart goes out to Shelly and her family big hugs ...

I was very sorry to hear about Bill's passing.  I knew he had been ill for some time but his passing touched me unexpectedly.  I wish to express my sincere condolences to you Shelley and family; Bill is now free of his pain.  I know Bill  will be deeply missed especially by his son, Dylan (my grandson) as Bill was always there for him and Dylan treasured his dad.  They had a very special closeness.  I pray God will give Dylan the strength he will need to get through the loss of his father in the coming days.  I'll miss you Bill and your voice.  You were always in the background singing out to me re  my plans for Dylan.
Thank you so much Bill for being there for Dylan  and teaching him how to hunt and fish,  I always appreciated the love and attention you gave him, I know he really missed you when you were in the hospital,  rest in peace Bill and run free like the wind,  lovingly remembered,

My brother Bill was a real good fisherman, especially pickerel (Walleye). My mother and Dad gave us a solid start, we took that to glorious heights and well ... some, not so much.  It is after all fishing, not catching. 

   In our late teenage years, many moons ago, Bill wanted an introduction to Largemouth Bass fishing.  An opportunity for little brother to help big brudder try something new. Evening and night being better, or at least more fun off we went. 

   Contrary to what some might think, if we were catching we were rarely consuming. We'd had a few great hours of bass fishing in that back bay and as sometimes happens when it gets to raining, Bill found a small bottle of Rye. Naturally, we had to taste test it, just to make sure it was up to par. 

   We taste tested that one pretty thoroughly, floating around kicked back in the light rain telling jokes and funny stories, when this homeowner showed up at his frontage. He and his wife had heard us having fun and invited us up to partake out of the rain in some food and another bottle. Well, we "par took" in that one too. Quite good actually. 

   Our route home was somewhat more circuitous than the straight-lines we'd taken there. We got that trusty rig tied up, sorta kinda, and made our way to front door. I'm pretty sure that's when two brothers had helped each other to their destination. I had the instruments of access saying to Bill, "you hold the house and I'll turn the key".  

    Now, how might you ask, could you possibly know that? I had help. According to his account and a small degree of sketchy confirmation from Brother Bill, I did say that while trying to unlock an open screen door; Dad was standing in his skivvies on the other side of it. Somewhat dismayed with our condition. Having no success at the house steadying, my Big Brother made a space for me on the lawn right beside him and that's where we slept. Not always best friends, but surely pals when times were tough.
