Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday October 6, 2018 at the age of 89. Beloved best friend and husband of Isobel (née Chesney) for 63 years. Loving father of Greg (Phyllis), Kim Murray (Bruce) and Cameron (Barb). Proud grandfather of Tyler Murray (Carissa), Justin Murray (Rachel), Megan Hopkins (Chris), Melissa Joncas (André), Beatrice Shaw and Noel Shaw. Brother of Helen McCracken(Ian) and the late George Shaw. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many extended family and friends.
A devoted husband and family man, Alan had a love of learning and travel. He will be remembered as having been a gifted artist, in many mediums but especially commercial, painting and pen and ink.
The family will receive friends at COMSTOCK-KAYE Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street on Friday, October 12 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a memorial Service at 2 p.m. Interment at Lakefield Cemetery.
