I was very sorry to hear about Pat's passing. He was an icon in the Ministry during the time I was privileged to work with him in Central Region during the 70's and 80's and his wit, intelligence and compassion will be missed by all.

Pat had a lasting influence on so many individuals working in the natural resources field, especially within the enforcement family. I had just heard the news this morning. My condolences and deepest sympathy to you Sharon and family. Pat was an inspiration for all us young CO's. I will never forget his talk at Dorset about chasing night hunters " while in hot pursuit, we came to the corner which both of us forgot about the ongoing construction. 
There are pieces of that dodge still landing as I speak!" When I was posted to Nipigon, the Paddy Hogan stories were still ongoing after his long departure. A "client" was at the front desk giving the clerk undeserved treatment. When staff finally gathered, Pat was toe to toe in the parking lot explaining politely the reason for what may occur next. He was a great man and embodied the term "smiling Irish eyes". He will be missed, but never forgotten for his support to many you may never know about.

To Sharon and the family, I knew Pat for many years and still recall him teaching me in Dorset in 1990. I'll forever miss his rendition of 'The Green Hornet', that I last heard him play at Tom Browning's retirement. Pat was a Game Warden's Game Warden. The MNR is a better place for having him.

I knew Pat though work from the time I began with the MNR and Fleming College.  He was a great teacher and the things he taught me, I have passed on to others. His message was always one of being professional above all else, a standard I still try to live up to. My sincerest condolences to all of Pat's family. I could always count on Pat as a go to guy and when I needed some lightness in my life (even when I didn't recognize it) he could always brighten things up with his sense of humor. He was that type of man. Rest in peace Pat.

Some time ago i ran into Pat in the concrete stairway of a parking garage in PTBO -- he was going up and i down.  We stopped and chatted for more than a half hour in the cold.  As always Pat had some great stories to relate, we talked about our 25 yr friendship -- he had some funny and mildly unkind observations  about our former employer - but he had such kind and supportive things to say about many of his former colleagues some still working and some retired. He also had some observations about living with diminished health.

My last major childhood memory of Pat was the serenade and send off he gave my friend Cathy Scott and I as we headed off to Jasper Alberta for summer jobs - June 1979. The whole family was up all night playing guitars and singing - Pat making up songs about our great adventure.  He drove us to the train station at 5 am.  Pat was a fun loving and thoughtful man who loved his family very much. All of us.

I was saddened to hear about the loss of Paddy and my sincere sympathy goes out to the family.  He is a great loss to all the people who knew him.

Pat was a true leader, admired and respected by all the officers he touched, including me, and an all-around great guy.  My sincere condolences to his family.

I am so sad to hear of the Hogan Family's loss.  Pat had such a positive and lasting impact on so many people's lives and careers.  He set the Gold Standard for Game Wardens!  I have always felt honoured and privileged to have had the opportunity  to share time and laughter with Pat when we worked in the old Huronia District.  When I think of you Paddy, I shall do so with a smile as I remember you signing that hilarious work related song that you wrote many years ago entitled "You've Got the Button Pushed Down"

I never had the opportunity to work with Patty, but somewhere during my career as a CO, we met and became friends. I last saw Patty at John Downey's retirement get together in Peterborough. He looked across the floor at me, and I walked over and said hello and asked if he knew me." Jimmy" he said ,"I always know you."
I'll never forget you either Patty, Rest in Peace my friend.

As a retired CO and member of the Oak Ridge Outdoors Club I will always remember Patty as a great CO, Boss and Good Friend. He will be sadly missed at the hunt camp. Rest in peace my friend. God bless

So so sorry to hear about Pat. Men like Pat make a difference every time they have the opportunity to do so. Many of Ontario Parks park wardens were touched by Pat every time he took the podium and we are all truly better people after hearing his words. Pat treated everybody as an equal no matter the walk of life, the hallmark of a great man.

"Patty" taught me my OHEP examiner's course in 1997 and was a great mentor over the years. I had the honour of assisting him with a presentation at a Hunter Education conference in Kingston in 2008. He lives on in my mind as well as many other's minds I am sure. Rest in peace Pat & thank you for sharing your experiences with me over a few beers on more than one occasion!

Sad to learn of Pat's passing. In my position as Enforcement Coordinator, I knew and worked with Pat for over 20 years before I retired in 1998. Pat was many things...professional, empathetic, dedicated, caring, sharing, and always funny. His eyes always sparkled as he thought of something humorous!! He was a great role model and mentor. He always put family and the Province's resources first. Ontario is a better place because of Pat. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
