Lillian Irene James

Peacefully, with her family by her side at Peterborough Retirement Manor, on Monday September 19, 2016. Beloved wife and other half of Ward James for 66 years. Loving mother of Norman (Arlene), Neal (Theresa) and Ruth Quesnel. Proud grandmother of Jessie, Elisa, Joe, Colleen, John and the late Michael; and great grandmother of Taylor, Zylaa, Emily, Olivia, William, Trinity, Quinn, Ivy and Wilhem. Predeceased by her siblings Leona Walker, June Edward, Franklin and Donald McCann. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Special thank you to the nurses, especially the St. Elizabeth palliative care nurse, and staff at Peterborough Retirement Manor for their kindness and care.

In keeping with Irene’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at PETERBOROUGH RETIREMENT RESIDENCE, 1039 Water Street on Saturday. October 1, 2016 from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. for a Celebration of Irene’s Life. A private family burial of the urn will take place at St. George Cemetery in Apsley at a later date. In honour of Irene, donations to 5 counties children’s’ Centre would be greatly appreciated.
