Jim’s family announce with sorrow his passing on June 20, 2024 at the age of 85 at Peterborough Extendicare. Beloved husband of Carole Murphy. Dear dad of Janet Rexe (Jeff), Judi Murphy (Jim LaFrance), Joanne Murphy and Jim Murphy; and step-father of Greg, Glenn and Tessa-Lynn Patten. Loving grandpa of 11 and great-grandpa of 4. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Irene (née McAdams) and brother Gord Murphy. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Jim will be remembered for his sense of humour. He often shared this with his grandchildren who loved him dearly. An avid sports fan, Jim cheered for the Blue Jays, Leafs, and Argos. Carole and Janet are grateful for the care and kindness he received at Peterborough Extendicare.
