Peacefully, at his residence at Princess Gardens, on Sunday, August 10, 2014 in his 91st year.

Beloved husband of 67 years of Gloria Ruth Smith (nee Allen). Loving father of Donna Burgis

(Bob) and Robert (Dorothy). Proud grandfather of Amanda (Steve Cloutier), Kari Burgis (David

McFadden), Trevor (Kenda), and great grandfather of Grace, Shanen, Charlotte, Koen, Sadie,

Molly and Knox. Dear brother of Reginald (deceased) and Yvonne Smith of Belleville, Ontario.

Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including many in Toronto,

Peterborough and Florida. Jack was a W.W.II veteran flying officer, avid sportsman

and hockey player. He was a greatly loved “Grandpa Jack” to all who knew him. It was Jack’s

wish to be cremated. The family will receive relatives and friends at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from

3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel at 4:00 p.m. In memory of
