HUBBEARD, Earl Ray – Earl went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2023 in his 100th year. He passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his beloved family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Edna Pomeroy. Cherished father of daughter Sherri (Chris) Shelenko. He was the dear brother of the late Norman (the late Beatrice), the late Marjorie Witteveen (the late Albert), Judy Cardwell (the late Ken), Wilma Smith (the late Aubrey), Mae Spenst (the late Henry), Jean Hubbeard, Janet Clark (the late Ivan), George Hubbeard (Betty), Roy Hubbeard (Elvia), the late Ron Hubbeard (Donna) and the late Joan Hubbeard. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Earl was a small business owner, his life’s work was operating Earl Hubbeard Electric in Peterborough. He was a long time member of the Kiwanis Club of the Kawarthas and winner of the Kiwanian of the Year award 3 times. He gave freely of his time and energy to many local charities. Earl had a genuine love and respect for all animals and loved spending time with his many pets. He would always say ‘I left the farm behind, but never my love for the animals’. Earl’s Christian faith was central to his life and he was an active member of Peterborough Free Methodist Church.
A private family burial will take place at Rosemount Memorial Gardens prior to the Celebration of Life that will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Peterborough Free Methodist Church, 450 Lansdowne Street East, Peterborough.
