Peacefully, at Fairhaven Long Term Care on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Roxie Stewart (née Lamble). Loving father of Scott(Terri), Blair (Mary Ellen), and Carrie-Lynn(Dan). Proud Poppy of Samantha, Carlie, Taylor and Brianne. Dear brother of the late Neil (Helen), Bruce (Wilma), late Arthur (late Betty) and late Rae (late Barb). Sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Faye (Warren) and Ruth (Larry) and their families. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
An enthusiastic sportsman, Don played many sports in his youth and coached in his later years. He and Roxie often enjoyed travelling, bringing the kids camping everywhere. He also gave of his time to help others volunteering with Meals On Wheels, the Kidney Foundation and at Northminster United Church.
The family will receive friends at COMSTOCK-KAYE Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge St., on Wednesday, July 24 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A memorial Service will be held at NORTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 300 Sunset Blvd., on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. In honour of Donald, donations to the Kidney Foundation, and the Northminster Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated. The family sincerely thanks the staff at Fairhaven for their kindness and care.
