Went to be with his Lord. Peacefully, with family at his side, at St. Joseph’s at Fleming on Thursday, February 14, 2013 in his 98th year. Dearly loved husband of the late Helen (nee Dunning). Loved father of Barbara Mountney (Doug), Willis (Laurel), Catherine Burrows (Richard) and Donald (Cathy). Cherished grandfather of John Mountney (Lorrie), Kerry Saltern (John), Tonya Fish-Plante (Jean Charles) and Tim Fish (Shannon); special great-grandfather of Mark, Ben, Taylor, Matthew, Jackson and Tristan. Much loved by many nieces and nephews. Charles was born in Cambridge, Nova Scotia and joined the Air Force serving as Chief Cook in the Officer’s Mess on the Alaska Highway. During his life he had many careers (farmer, sheet metal worker, school bus driver and Sunday School Superintendent). He devoted his life to God and helping others. During retirement he continued to devote many hours to his volunteer work (driving for others, helping seniors with his handyman skills and Meals On Wheels). He was an inspiration and role model to both family and friends. A memorial service will be held at AUBURN BIBLE CHAPEL, 911 Armour Road on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Garry Robinson officiating. If desired memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Bible Society, Hope Valley Day Camp or a charity of your choice.
