Diane C. (Williams) Palmer, age 71, of Perrysburg, OH passed away peacefully on, May 7, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Diane was born in Toledo, OH on December 23, 1943 to William D. and Anabel H. (Petersen) Williams who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Rogers High School and Miami Unitersity. She married Gene E. Palmer after graduation.
After college graduation Diane began work as a buyer at Lamson’s Department Store in Toledo. When Gene was transferred to Detroit Diane gave up her career to spend full time raising her family. All three of her children were born in the Detroit area. The family moved to Perrysburg in 1975 after spending 10 years in Michigan.
Diane spent the summers of her early years at her parents cottage on Devil’s Lake, Michigan. Later, Diane and Gene enjoyed their cottage on Round Lake, Michigan. When Diane’s parents retired to Key Largo, Florida she continued her love of the water with snorkling, diving, boating and fishing. She also loved the beaches of Florida, especially Jensen Beach and Sanibel Island.
Diane was a member of First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg, OH where she was active in the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
Diane is survived by her husband Gene E. Palmer, sons Craig W. (Kim) Palmer, and Kevin W. (Teather) Palmer, daughter Gwen E. (David) Vrh; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Palmer, Evan Palmer, Tyler Vrh, Tristan Vrh, and Lauren Palmer; sisters, Dale Gorden and Donna Williams, and brother, Dr. William D. Williams Jr.; brothers-in law, Bruce (Stella) Palmer, Dudley (Katie Brooks) Palmer and Rex (Cindy) Palmer.
A Memorial Visitation is planned for Friday, May 29,2015, from 3-8 pm at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551(419-874-3133). A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Second St. in Perrysburg on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11A.M. with Pastor Eric McGlade officiating. Interment is private. Contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Perrysburg, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the Juvenile Diabeties Research Foundation.
