William “Bill” J. Sleeth, 88, of Peoria, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born October 27, 1929 in Peoria, IL to William J. and Myrtle (Weber) Sleeth. He married Norma Lehman on August 1, 1951 in Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two children Linda McIntosh and Mark Sleeth, two sisters, Mary Gabbert and Cora Lee Baxter and one brother, James Sleeth.
Surviving are his wife, Norma Sleeth of Peoria; four children, William (Barbara) Sleeth of Marquette Heights, Rodney (Janet) Sleeth of Peoria, Kerri (Kathy Balek) Sleeth of Algonquin, IL and Sheri (Joel) Urich of Palatine, IL; nine grandchildren, Darin (Kim) Stewart, Brooke Sleeth, Adam Urich, Taryn Urich, Nathan McIntosh, Dylan McIntosh, Derek McIntosh, Cassidy (Austin) Roehm and Madison McIntosh; one great-grandson, Jakob Stewart; son-in-law, Terry McIntosh and his beloved dog Lexus.
Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked for many years as a Tool and Die Maker for Caterpillar Inc. Bill was also the owner of Patsy’s Studio in Peoria. He was a member of the Peoria Heights Congregational Church, Alta Lodge #748 A.F. & A.M. and the UAW local 974. Bill loved fishing, boating, music and being a sharp dressed man.
A funeral service will be at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 with visitation from 10:00 am until the start of the service at Peoria Heights Congregational Church. Rev. Brian Michael will officiate. Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
