William "Ernie" E. Baldock

William E. "Ernie" Baldock, 87, of West Peoria, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Serenity Assisted Living & Memory Care in East Peoria. He was born on January 12, 1935 in Canton, a son of Cecil and Alleen (Lingenfelter) Baldock. Ernie married Donna Jean Rogers on March 22, 1958 in Hernando, Mississippi. They were married for 63 years. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2021.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Lyle Peters; and sisters, Rowena Reed and JoAnna Newberry.

Ernie is survived by his three sons, Steve (Dian) Baldock of Niceville, Florida, William "Ernie" (Shannon) Baldock, Jr. of Bartonville, and Dan (Tracy) Baldock of Edwards; 11 grandchildren, Nick (Louisa) Baldock, Alissa (Kelley) Cobb, Caitie (Kyle) Wood, Samantha (Chris) Cone, Brandi Baldock, Brittany (Kevin) Bott, Courtney (Nate) Mason, Lexi Baldock, Landon Baldock, Mackenzie Baldock and Alexandra Baldock; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law, Larry Rogers of Rome, Georgia and Bill Reed of Phoenix, Arizona.

He was the co-owner and co-operator of Ernie's Dairy Dream in Peoria with his wife for many years, retiring in 1999. He also owned and operated Baldock Equipment.

Ernie was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. His passion was hunting and fishing and time spent at Honker's Corner Rod and Gun Club. Ernie most enjoyed time spent with his family and attending events for his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge #20 in Peoria.

Ernie's visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. His graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. also on Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West Peoria with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bob Michel Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Peoria or the Elks Lodge #20.
