Not very many folks know how vital Bud was to the creation of the Averyville/Woodruff Park Baseball Program.  Bud helped turn old Woodruff Field into a facility for kids and over 2500 boys and girls enjoyed his efforts. Bud personally built 3 backstops and was instrumental in his employer, McDougal-Hartman, building 3 baseball fields. For the first 15 years, Bud provided large water coolers for the program as there were no water fountains. My respect for Bud Lynn knew no bounds. My condolences goes out to Linda and family. I (Rocky) met Buddy about 52 years ago...I was an 18 year old kid learning iron work with my dad. Buddy always treated the new guys fair, but also how to take responsibility and to do a good job. Great teacher, great mentor, great friend.  Not a lot of us old timers left. Sure sorry to lose  one of the good guys...

I WORKED WITH BUDDY WHEN STILL ON PERMIT  RIGHT AFTER GETTING OUT OF THE SERVICE. HE WAS ONE HECK OF A GUY.  HE TAUGHT ME A LOT, OR MAYBE HE TRIED. HE WAS WITH MY DAD THE DAY HE DIED ON THE JOB IN ‘73. BUDDY WAS FROM THE OLD SCHOOL...WORK HARD.

Bud and Linda were one of the first couples we met back in 2010 when we moved on our camper lot in Strawberry Square.  Buddy was a good friend and never tired of working at SS - from operating the trash collection to trapping unwanted varmints. He and Linda loved SS and the people  of SS responded. My heart is broken, he was like a 2nd father to me (and many of my siblings), even though it was many, many years ago, I will never forget how the whole family treated me! What a kind, fun, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor! I remember when he and my Dad bought some chickens, holy cow, they cut the heads off and put the chickens in a metal garbage can, they put the lid on and at least one chicken (with no head) got out and was running around, crazy!!! I still remember his father at the house in the room off the dining room at your old house, he was a hard working loving man with a great chuckle.
Always an awesome man, I'm so sorry for your loss, all of you, many great childhood memories with the Lynn family!! Love to you all!

I will never forget Buddy. He was such a hoot. We parked next to him our first year here at Strawberry Square and Buddy and I would go back and forth with funny remarks. He will be missed. My heart goes out to Linda and the family. May Gods loving hand give them peace. He knew the Lord and is driving them crazy in heaven. What a celebration their having. Buddy has been made perfect!!!

Our deepest condolences to  the family.  Hadn't know Buddy  very long but always enjoyed our visits and waving at each other as we passed in park.
Prayers for the family at this difficult time. 

Bud will be missed.  He used to come by the house, in Strawberry Square, and let my granddaughter honk the horn on his bike, she loved it.  Love n prayers to Linda and the family.  A wonderful man, finally at rest.
