He was born May 19, 1933 in Gilbertsville, KY to William T. and Alice (Singleton) Lynn. He married Linda Matlock on Dec. 26, 1953 in Kevil, KY. She survives along with six children: Beverly (James) Winchell of Las Vegas, NV, Dale (Sharon) Lynn of Chillicothe, William R. “Randy” (Rhonda) Lynn of Washington, IL, Charles (Lisa) Lynn of Bedford, IA, Anita (Curt) Megyesi of Washington, IL, and Lorie (Craig) Riggins of Peoria Heights. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Buddy was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War. Following his time in the military, he was an Iron Worker working out of the Local 112 for over 50 years retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Whitehurst Road Baptist Church in Plant City, FL. Buddy enjoyed fishing, woodworking, feeding and watching birds, and helping his children whenever they needed a hand. He enjoyed 20 years of retirement at the Strawberry Square in Plant City, FL.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
