Virginia Lee Clayton

She was born to Wellington Hollbrook and Helen Marie (Parry) Balzer in Astoria, IL on August 11, 1931. They preceded her in death.

Virginia married the love of her life Gerald Gene Clayton on August 5, 1951 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death.

She was head of Student Accounting for many years at Illinois Central College and retired in 1972. Before that she worked at Caterpillar in Accounting. She was a long time member of Creve Coeur First Christian Church and enjoyed her flowers and china painting. Virginia was a member of the World Organization of China Painting, Illinois Valley China Art Guild and even was a porcelain art teacher.

Virginia is survived by her son Michael (Cathy) Clayton, grandchildren; Chad Clayton, Blake (Molly) Clayton, Jason Clayton, Gerald Clayton, Christina Evans, Candace Stanley, Camilla Loy. She is also blessed to have many great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her brother John Balzer.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Friday August 24, 2018 at Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with a visitation being held an hour prior.

Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
