Sean was born on March 03, 1965, in Peoria to Michael F. and M. Michele (McGrath) Kelly. Sean married Maureen (Doyle) on August 26, 1995. She survives along with their five children: Michael Doyle, Erin Colleen, Bridget Maureen, Patrick Nash and Shannon Suzanne. Sean is also survived by his mother; his father in law, Michael Doyle; and his six siblings: Michael Kelly, Joe (Angie) Kelly and Kevin (Katie) Kelly of Peoria; Maureen (Chad) Scott of Dahinda; Tim Shannon (Patrice) Kelly and Shelly (Curt) Craig, both of Flagstaff, Arizona. Sean is survived by 13 nieces and nephews: Catherine, McKenzie, Joe, Lakin, Tom, Phelan Kelly, all of Peoria; Loris and Quinn Craig, Seanan, Mairead, Martin, Niamh and Maebh Kelly all of Flagstaff, Arizona. Sean is also survived by four brothers in law and three sisters in law on the Doyle side, as well as 16 nieces and nephews.
Sean was preceded in death by his father and his mother in law, Suzanne Doyle, as well as grandparents, Tony and Catherine Kelly and Joe and Margaret McGrath.
Sean graduated from Academy of Our Lady/Spalding Institute in 1983, and Eastern Illinois University in 1989. He is a member of St. Philomena Parish, as well as Carpenters Local Union 237. Sean began his work as an Insurance Agent, followed by working as a jeweler at Kevin Kelly Jewelers. Sean then found his love of work, as a Union Carpenter for 16 years. Sean had a strong love for music (Johnny Cash, Outlaw Country and Jamey Johnson), hunting, fishing, fish fries in the Kelly family garagemahal, the Indiana Hoosiers and the St. Louis Cardinals, exceeded only by his love of people and his family. A baseball highlight for Sean was sitting in the "green seats" of Busch Stadium with Maureen in 2015.
Sean was not only a people person, the last to leave a party, but he was also a devoted and loyal husband and father. Sean and Maureen had a strong marriage and looked forward to celebrating many more years with their children. Sean was diagnosed with melanoma cancer in March of 2015. He fought a hard fight and lived each day to the fullest with his first love — his family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Francois Geoffroy of the Peoria Cancer Center, Dr. Hussain Tawby of MD Anderson and Dr. Andrew Tsung of Illinois Neurological Center. A special thanks to Christine and Tiffany of the OSF Hospice Center, who allowed Sean to spend his final days at home with his wife and children, fulfilling Sean's final wishes.
