Sandra L Roberts

Sandra L. Roberts, 76, of Peoria, IL passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born September 22, 1937 in Peoria, IL to Howard and Mildred (Avery) Palmquist. She married Kenneth Roberts on February 25, 1956 at Paris Avenue Church of Christ in Peoria, IL.

Sandra worked for Mellow Cream Donuts in Peoria Heights and Woolworth Department Stores early in her career. Sandra was an accomplished swimmer earning numerous ribbons and trophies during high school. Her hobbies also included crocheting afghans and bowling, where she was a member of the Peoria Women’s Bowling Association and the 600 Club. Surviving is her husband Kenneth Roberts of Peoria, IL, four children: Kenna Wingfield of Peoria, IL, Karen Lovell of Peoria, IL, Kineta (Ron) Swan of Peoria, IL, and Kenny (Shannon) Roberts of Washington, IL, nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter, her sister Shirley Davey of Peoria, IL and several nieces and nephews. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Howard Sonny Palmquist, and one sister; Beverly Comstock. Services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be Monday from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery.
