She was born June 30, 1932 in Peoria to George and Ruby (Graves) Brodbeck. She first married Douglas Wilbur in Feb. 1952 and later married Ronald Arms Aug. 30, 1974.
Survivors include one son, Douglas Keith (Pam) Wilbur, Jr of Metamora, one sister, Pat Sharum of Hanna City, two grandchildren: Michelle (Jeff) Greer, Dan Wilbur, and four great-grandchildren: Delaney, Dalton Greer, and Carolyn, Kathryn Wilbur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Bob, Chet, Mike Brodbeck, four sisters-in-law: Leanne, Joan, Doris, Marie, and one brother-in-law, Frank Sharum.
Ruby was a Secretary for Caterpillar, Inc. retiring May 1, 1987.
She was a member of several golf and bowling leagues and also a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge #65 in Peoria. She was a member of River-Plex, enjoyed line dancing, was a member of the South West Peoria Kiwanis Club, Carl Cannon “Elite” Outreach Program, Peoria Visitor Center, Lutheran Home, Methodist Hospice, and Snyder Village. She also enjoyed time with Congressman AJ Schock and Steve Shearer starting in 2004 and PCRW in 2003. That was the start of Ruby working with many candidates 1995. She was also a member of Cursillo in 1995 and now Via De Cristo. She was a Life Time CUBS fan and a lifetime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and First English Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Rev. Ryan Anderson will officiate.
Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
