Ronnie Lee Stufflebeam, 82, of Peoria, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 31, 1940 in Fulton County, a son of Ira Ross and Leona Frances (Ball) Stufflebeam. Ronnie married Carmen Mendoza on June 1, 1994 in Peoria. She survives.
He is also survived by his three sons, Kevin (Cheryl) Stufflebeam of Hanna City, Brian (Marty) Stufflebeam of Peoria, and Joseph (fiance, Emma) Stufflebeam of Elmhurst; three granddaughters, Rylee (Brett) Speer, Olivia Stufflebeam, and Lauren Stufflebeam; two great-grandsons, Krew and Thayer Speer; and two sisters, Vaneta Antle and JoAnne Johnson; several nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Stufflebeam; and sister Moneta Morgan.
He was a graduate of Limestone Community High School, class of 1959.
Ronnie owned and operated Ron's Automotive in Bellevue for 53 years, retiring in 2021. He previously had worked at Keystone Steel and Wire in Bartonville for nine years.
He was a member of Filipino-American Society of Central Illinois and the NHRA. He loved drag racing. Ronnie competed in numerous races in the Midwest with his many race cars, including the HANG'EM HIGH '57 Chevy Wagon. He passed down his racing passion to now three generations of family. Ronnie especially loved spending time with his family.
Ronnie's funeral mass will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria. His visitation will be from 8:30 am to 10:30 am also on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Peoria County.
