He was born April 6, 1948 in Peoria, IL to Paris and Mary Jane (Brinegar) Sullivan. He married Kathleen Jones on November 4, 1972 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are their two children, Christine (Kurtis) Best of Wyoming, IL and Scott (Janet) Sullivan of Blythewood, SC; four grandchildren, Jacob Best, Lauren Best, Carson Sullivan and Alexandria Sullivan; three siblings, Gary (Connie) Sullivan of Peoria, Sandra (Michael) Sapit of Jacksonville, FL, and Georgia (Michael) Siemann of Naperville, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron graduated from Bradley University and worked as a Civil Engineer with the Illinois Department of Transportation. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria and served on the Peoria Great Banquet Community at his church. Ron enjoyed golfing and was an accomplished bowler, with eleven 300 games and two 800 series. He was a member of the Peoria Sunday Morning League, where he was inducted in to their Hall of Fame, along with the Greater Peoria Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He also loved fishing, and was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan, but the most important part of Ron’s life was his family.
A visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria. A service will be at 10 am with visitation one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the church. Burial will follow the service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
