Robert "Bob" F. Walden

Robert F. "Bob" Walden, aged 96, of Peoria, IL, passed away on October 30, 2024. Born on June 22, 1928, in Peoria, a son of James H. and Ella (Harms) Walden. Bob married Judith A. Krause on May 22, 1966 in Peoria. She survives.

He is also survived by his four children, Rex (Lillian Viera), Michael (Michael Payette), Kim (Todd) Snarr, and Debra (David) Kenny, and Roger Cavanagh (surviving son-in-law); seven grandchildren, Erin (Sharbel) Shanine, Chase Snarr, Danielle Snarr, Samantha Snarr, Alexander Walden, Meghan Kenny, and Caleb Kenny; and two great-grandchildren, Luca and Hudson Shanine.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings; granddaughter, Mackenzie Kenny; and his daughter, Connie Cavanagh.

Bob graduated from Peoria High School and worked over 20 years at the Peoria Journal Star. He later owned and operated Walden Printing for over two decades. In his retirement, Bob continued to work at various local golf courses, including WeaverRidge, Madison, and Newman Golf Courses, sharing his passion for golf with others.

A devout member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bob's faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and beliefs. He was deeply involved in church activities and found great solace and community through his faith. He was an enthusiastic sportsman, with a particular love for golf, which he played for more than 80 years. His other hobbies included playing softball and tennis, shooting pool, camping, and various projects from building room additions to mini-outhouses.

Bob's visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob's memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, honoring his commitment to his faith and his church community.
