He was born July 19, 1942, in Pekin, to Roland and Helen (Schroeder) Bailey. He married Betty Landis on March 9, 1976, in Peoria, and she survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Scott (Tia) Bailey, and Willy (Amy) Bailey; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ken (Kelly) Godby, James (Della) Godby, Bud (Sonya) Bailey; sisters, Marline Conklin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
Robert retired from Methodist Hospital after 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a member of the D.A.V. He had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed teasing family members. He enjoyed wrestling, westerns, and spending time by the Peoria riverfront.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Cremation will follow, and burial of the urn will take place at Parkview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
