She was born March 9, 1931, in Peoria, to James and Beulah (Hawhee) Hammond. She married Roger D. Boyd on July 16, 1950, in Peoria, and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2008.
Surviving are her daughter, Susan (Richard) Hagel; son, Stephen (Tammy) Boyd; grandchildren, Joseph (Brandy) Wenger, Matthew Boyd, and Jacob Boyd; step-grandchildren, Cindy (John) Ruiz, Charles (Debbie) Hagel, and Chantel (Peter) Williams; 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joe E. Hammond.
Nancy was retired from Caterpillar where she worked in South American and International Sales, and the Visitors Service Center. In her youth, she worked for Vonachen’s Junction as a hostess.
She was a member of the Elks, Timberlake Club, and CAT Woman’s Club- where she served as President.
She had a passion for traveling (especially cruises), and her favorite destination was Santorini. She enjoyed golfing, reading, and playing cards.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11AM Monday, May 1, 2023, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be from 9-11AM, Monday, at the chapel. Private entombment will take place at Parkview Cemetery Chapel of Peace Mausoleum.
