Nancy Jo Booth, 66, of Peoria Heights, formerly of Clinton, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Carle Health – Proctor Hospital in Peoria. She was born on June 2, 1958 in Chicago, a daughter of Oscar Frederick “Pete” Forslund and Margaret Mary “Pegi” (Flanagan) Forslund. Nancy married Corey D. Booth on February 28, 1979 in Norfolk, Virginia.
She is survived by her two children, Nathan D. (Ruthie) Booth of Fulton and Corey J. Booth of Miles, Iowa; three grandchildren, Alisyn Booth, Tori Jo Booth and Brayden Booth, all of Clinton, Iowa; one brother, Joe (Carol) Forslund of Jacksonville, Florida; three sisters, Meg Iorfida of Florida, Eileen Phillips of Chicago and Connie (Sam) Anderson of Orange Park, Florida; and her partner, Mark Woolam of Peoria Heights.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Raymond Forslund.
She served her country in the United States Army Reserve.
Nancy received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Clinton Community College & became a Registered Nurse in 1989.
She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, last working at Heddington Oaks Nursing Home in West Peoria, retiring in 2019. She worked most of her career in nursing homes caring for Alzheimer patients; a labor of love which she was very proud of & displayed the unconditional love & empathy she had in her heart for others.
Nancy loved dogs, horses, especially her Newfoundland dog, George and her Bay Quarter Horse, Obie who she would compete in Barrel Racing with, and also enjoyed cross-stitching as a pastime in her later years. But most of all she loved spending time with her sons and grandchildren & never missed sending birthday cards, texts, & phone calls.
Nancy was known & beloved as a kind, caring, & loving mother & friend to many; highly respected for her honesty & standing up for what is right, personally & professionally. She will be dearly missed by everyone she loved.
Nancy’s visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. There will be no services.
