Although Millie's journey here on earth has ended, she is beginning a new life of everlasting joy, where there is no pain or sorrow. She can now square dance, crochet and quilt whenever she wants.

She began her life's journey on Sept. 11, 1925, in Warrensburg, Ill., the youngest of three children born to Bertha Culp Bauman and Russell P. Bauman. They both preceded her in death.

She has two surviving brothers, Everett J. Bauman, of Warrensburg, Ill., and Roy B. Bauman of Sullivan, Ill.

They all grew up on a farm outside of Sullivan and, even though it was during the Depression, they had many happy memories of farm and family life.

She graduated from Sullivan High School in 1943.

Millie lived her life with a quiet determination and loving grace that will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

She was a loving wife and is survived by her husband of 18 years, John F. Yeck. They married on Sept. 26, 1992, in Peoria. They had many enjoyable years of travel and companionship.

She was a wonderful and devoted mother and is survived by her only child, Karen A. Shannon Pauli of Peoria.

A loving grandmother, she enjoyed her grandchildren, Brett M. Hoerdemann, Franz J. Hoerdemann and Emily B. Hoerdemann, all living in the Peoria area.

Two nieces, Tamara Bauman Lentz, and Teresa Bauman Betzler, both of Sullivan, and two nephews, Michael Bauman, of Tower Hill, Ill., and Larry Bauman, of Urbana, Ill., survive her.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Lloyd Shannon and Robert Weaver.

She received her degree from Eureka College in 1947, where she was a member of the Phi Omega sorority. Later, she returned to college at Bradley University and completed courses for her teaching certification.

Known by her students as Mrs. Weaver, she taught first and second grade for Peoria School District 150 for over 25 years. She was a devoted teacher, and many of her students remember her fondly.

A member of NAIC investment group, she taught classes on investing with her husband. She attended programs for Peoria Retired Teachers and was a longtime member of Glen Oak Christian Church.

She was recently residing at Proctor Endowment Home.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2011, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. The Rev. Randy Williams will officiate. Visitation will be two hour prior to the services on Friday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the chapel. Cremation will be accorded. Burial of her ashes will be in Springdale Cemetery at a later date.
