She was born on October 12, 1931 in Peoria the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Dries Wilson. Mary married Norris Haines on April 24, 1954 at First United Methodist Church in Peoria. He preceded her in death in August of 2016 after 62 years of marriage.
Mary is survived by her two children; Ray (Elizabeth) Haines of Oglesby and Susan (Bill) Blocker of Brimfield; and two grandchildren, Karinda (Ron) Schmidt and Brent (Amanda) Blocker.
She graduated from Manuel Training High School. She worked for seventeen years in the Accounting department of Foster & Gallagher prior to retirement.
Mary and Norris enjoyed trips to the East Coast states of New Hampshire and Maine and family fishing vacations in Pardeeville Wisconsin. They also enjoyed going to the western states with Ray, Elizabeth and Karinda and visiting Norris's former Battleship, the New Jersey, with Brent.
She was a skilled artist and seamstress and enjoyed making special gifts for family and friends. She was a sweet, kind and patient woman and was a blessing to everyone she knew.
Mary's family would like to thank her “second family”, the dedicated staff at St. Francis Woods Supportive Living, for their caring and love.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, March 16, 2018 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Chaplain Mary Jennifer Meister will officiate.
Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace in Parkview Cemetery.
