Marjorie V. Porter

Marjorie V. Porter, 96, residing at Brandon Wood Retirement Center passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Unity Point Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born October 16, 1917 in Tiskilwa, IL, to Emmett and Jennie Finnegan.

She is survived by her daughter Judith (Rod) Wand of Morton; two granddaughters, Amy Wand-Utech of Peoria, and Lisa Wand of Reno,NV; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Barrett and Gertrude Moore of Peoria.

Preceded in death by her husband Russell; one daughter, Carol Lowery; two sisters; three infant grand-daughters.

She attended Brown Business College ,and was a bookkeeper for many years last working at Barrett Industrial Supply. She was part owner and Treasurer of Peoria Speedway. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish of Morton.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Henry. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice.
