She was born on August 12, 1917 in Lanesville, IL to Henry and Winifred (Moyer) Bales.
Marietta was a member of Forrest Hill United Methodist Church and the American Legion. She enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crotchet, bowling, and playing games such as Yahtzee, Scrabble, and Bunco.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Eldridge Bahl, and George Stuart; sons, Robert “Jim” Stuart, and Larry Stuart; daughters-in-law, Roseanne Stuart, and Buehla Stuart; sons-in-law, John Bartlett, and Mike Bennett; grandson, John Bartlett, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Jessica Stuart-Abernathy; sister, Irma; and brothers, Ben, Vern, and Dewey.
Marietta is survived by her children, George Stuart, Vern Stuart, Sheila Bartlett, and Brenda Bennett; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Kathy (Ron) Pacione, and Gloria Stuart; and 5 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
