Mariah was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Hall Sr., Aunt Angel Hall, and first cousin Jade Hills.
Mariah was sweet, gentle, loving, and kind. With her devotion to giving love immensely, she sought to pour love into the lives of others. Naturally a nurturer, Mariah took pride in being a young mother and proudly basked in motherhood. At times she could be strong-willed, but she was intentional. Her desire to improve herself for self-growth was always at the forefront of her decision-making.
While reasonably new to Peoria, Illinois, residents of Peoria welcomed her and her son as she established new roots in the community. On November 20, 2021, she joined what would then become her home church, the local Restoration Life Church. There, Mariah became actively involved in the church. She always made herself available for those seeking an ear to listen to and a shoulder to lean on. Mariah displayed resiliency to overcome any undesirable circumstance and strived to constantly move forward, fueling a fire to share her own story as a desire to encourage others.
She selflessly volunteered at Dream Center Peoria and drew the attention of others while influencing those around her. Mariah not only impacted the lives of others with her interpersonal skills but also shared her skills as a cook. Mariah worked at the South Side Christian Academy, bringing individuals together with her cooking. While working in the kitchen, Mariah maintained her charismatic personality. Although her family frequently teased her about her getting in the kitchen more often. The children attending South Side Christian Academy could not resist her delicious peach cobbler. All the children loved her, and she reciprocated the love and gratitude equally, if not more, to them.
She stands in our hearts as a reminder of strength, love, and compassion. Though we mourn her loss daily, her memory will forever live through us.
The family of Mariah Faith Moss would like a moment to acknowledge with the utmost sincere appreciation for all contributions, including monetary, overflowing prayers, and words of encouragement during our time of grief. We thank God for your compassion, willing efforts, and understanding.
Mariah's funeral service and visitation will be private.
Inurnment will take place at a later date.
