He was born Nov. 17, 1947 in Peoria to Leo L. and Mildred I. (Pratt) Tate. He married Evelyn Darling July 15, 1980 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She survives along with four sons: Jeff (Donna) Blankenship of Wausau, WI, Greg (Donna) Blankenship of Germantown Hills, Lee (Michelle) Tate of Washington, Troy (Michelle) Tate of Washington, five grandchildren, and one sister, Joan (Larry) Jones of Marquette Heights.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Les was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Masons.
Funeral services will be Monday Oct. 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Peoria with Military Honors.
