She was born Nov. 14, 1916 in Galesburg to Charles and Selma (Moore) Frakes. She married Earl E. Benson on July 20, 1937 in Des Moines, IA. Earl passed away on Jan. 31, 1989 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons, and five brothers.
Survivors include her sons: Gary (Carolyn) Benson of Dunlap, Larry (Sheila) Benson of Surprise, AZ, nine grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Kathryn was a co-owner of Benson Automotive for 28 years working with her husband and sons.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Wooley-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Garden in Peoria.
