Katey was born on December 10, 1952, in Peoria to John and Margaret (Sullivan) Regan. Her parents preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death are her two brothers, John Regan, and Patrick Regan.
Katey is survived by her son, George (Jennifer) Ray; her grandchildren, Cadence, Collin, Kurt, Maddox and Sophia; her siblings, Susan (Dwight) Borneman, Timothy Regan, Kevin (Linda) Regan, Bridget (Leo) Erwin, Daniel (Beatrice) Regan, and Jamie Regan; her two step-sons, Bill and Todd Hasenstein; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Katey graduated from Peoria (Central) High School. She had several different careers throughout her life, including her position as Head Bank Teller with Redbrand Credit Union before her retirement.
She had many passions in life and was an extremely creative artist. Her talents included painting, quilting, knitting, crocheting, beading, making jewelry and intricate wooden designs. She was passionate about animals and nature, as was reflected in her arts and crafts. Katey was a lifelong learner, with an interest in science, space and technology. She was a very spiritual person with a strong faith in Christ. Katey was committed to her family, especially her sons. She touched the lives of everyone she met, and was loved by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, at 11am, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, Mass to follow at 12pm.
